The Production

As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary this summer, we will be bringing those same events to life through the Broadway musical 1776. This musical brings humor, drama, and conflict to the stage. It is astonishing that 13 colonies so different in cultures and beliefs were able to come together and agree on independence. Our audience will be surrounded and immersed in the events that occurred in Liberty Hall in Philadelphia.

When we last performed this show in 2012, our nation was different in many ways. Somehow, the polarity in our country has become even more apparent. This show demonstrates what it truly means to be an American, as famous figures such as John and Abigail Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson address issues of war, slavery, apathy, freedom, and patriotism.
